Creative Spark

Our Solution

This project involved the transformation of a long-derelict building on Clanbrassil Street into Creative Spark’s Downtown Hub, a modern co-working space in Dundalk designed to support creativity, collaboration and community growth. Vacant for over 15 years, the building presented an opportunity to reintroduce activity, purpose and connection into the heart of the town.

The brief focused on creating a flexible and inclusive workspace for entrepreneurs, remote workers, creatives and local businesses. Careful spatial planning was central to the design approach, allowing the space to support a mix of focused work, informal meetings and shared activity, while maximising light, flow and adaptability throughout.

Material choices and finishes were kept restrained and contemporary, creating a calm, professional environment that feels welcoming and accessible. Subtle references to the building’s existing character help ground the space within its urban setting, ensuring the design feels connected to place rather than imposed upon it.

Beyond the interior, the project plays a wider role in revitalising Dundalk’s town centre, bringing new life to a previously unused building and providing vital infrastructure for the growing remote-working and creative community in the North-East. The completed hub now acts as a focal point for enterprise, innovation and social connection in a central urban location.
